COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMS
School counseling programs are collaborative efforts benefiting students, parents, teachers, administrators and the overall community. School counseling programs should be an integral part of students' daily educational environment, and school counselors should be partners in student achievement

THE AMERICAN SCHOOL COUNSELORS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL MODEL
The ASCA National Model is a framework for school counseling programs. It outlines the components of a comprehensive school counseling program. The ASCA National Model brings school counselors together with one vision and one voice, which creates unity and focus toward improving student achievement. THE ROLE OF SCHOOL COUNSELORS
School counselors are certified/ licensed educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling or a related field, making them uniquely qualified to address all students’ academic, career and social-emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating and enhancing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success. School counselors are an important part of the educational leadership team and provide valuable assistance to students regardless of whether they work in an elementary school or middle school, high school or beyond.
